HIGHLY SPRUNG

A story unfolds in two separate locations, it’s the same story told from two perspectives- the one that left and the one that was left behind.

 

Hope- The Earth has been abandoned, destroyed and made inhospitable through our continued lack of respect for air pollution; only the rich escaped, those with the resources and ability to leave… the others were left alone, to die. But one girl has survived and through her determination and cultivation of the land she has found a solution to the pollution crisis- life itself.

 

This story shows the building of a gyroscopic machine, from recycled and repurposed parts, bikes, hoses, metal and gears. The machine comes to life… cycle powered it helps the girl to cultivate new life, lay soil, plant trees. Water sprays from the machine, wheels turn and clean air is produced. She dances in celebration.

 

Discovery- The astronaut is a traveller sent on a mission to uncover the cause of Earth’s decline. The astronaut has returned to the past to find an answer to the future crisis. An aerial performer dressed as a realistic but damaged astronaut is suspended up to 20ft in the air, walking as if without gravity, spinning and turning, using a mobile aerial rig. The aerial rig is fully mobile on wheels and can process through crowds and streets. 

 

The Answer- The two performers meet when the astronaut finds the girl and discovers how she has cultivated new plant life. Through movement she begins to convince him that the human race still has the ability to make the changes needed now to save our planet in the future.

 

An aerial duet set on and around the mobile rig, which sees the two performers interact and perform at height, suspended above the heads of crowds.
